Many years ago someone asked me how I would like to indulge myself if money were no object. I replied, without too much hesitation, that I would buy every single record that was released (within certain obvious boundries of taste, of course) and would keep the good ones and give the rest to Oxfam. Thereby I would wind up with a copy of every worthwhile record made between the day of my undeserved good fortune and the day of my demise. A pretty neat record collection.
